Update - January 2, 2009 Start Construction
In December, the Village of Hamilton received a permit from the DEC to clear the towpath along the canal on the West side of the airport going South from Eddy Road. This segment will connect the existing towpath trail to Eaton Street in the village and the North end of the existing trail along the O&W RR into the Village.
At its own expense, the Village has cut and chipped the fewest trees necessary to clear an approximately 8 ft wide path. Completing the plan will require using a bulldozer to clear stumps from part of the trail on village property leading towards Eaton Street.
